After-hours haunted comedy show at The York Dungeon, pitched as darker and scarier than the daytime shows, strictly for over-18s.
The York Dungeon has brought back Dungeon Lates, its 18+ after-hours nights, which run every Saturday from 10 January to 24 October 2026. The sessions start at 6:30pm and run until 7:30pm, lasting around 75 minutes. It's a strictly over-18s event, so it's one for when you're out with friends rather than a family day out.
If you've been to the Dungeon during the day, this is a different beast. It's pitched as darker and scarier than the daytime shows, and the format mashes up theatre, special effects and storytelling. The Dungeon describes it as having more twists, saucier jokes and cheekier banter than usual, and they promise you won't know whether to laugh or scream. It's essentially the same mix of horror and comedy the place is known for, just stripped of the family-friendly edges and pushed into later hours.

Capacity is limited, so it's worth booking ahead rather than turning up on the night. The only date to watch out for is Saturday 22 August, when there's no Dungeon Lates running. Otherwise, it's a Saturday fixture throughout the first ten months of the year, from the cold start in January right through to the autumn nights in October. If you're looking for something to do on a Saturday evening in York, it's a consistent option that stays on the calendar for most of the year.
