Baltimore psychedelic-funk quintet Pigeons Playing Ping Pong play The Sovereign in the Grand Center Arts District, with opening act Hot Like Mars.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong bring their 2027 tour to The Sovereign on Friday, March 5, with Chicago jam-funk quintet Hot Like Mars opening. The Sovereign is the newest music venue in the Grand Center Arts District, brought to the city by the team behind the Old Rock House.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are a Baltimore psychedelic-funk quintet led by frontman 'Scrambled Greg' Ormont. Jeremy Schon and Ben Carrey handle guitars and vocals, Alex 'Gator' Petropulos is on drums and vocals, and newest member Jon Brady is on keys and vocals. Their sound blends soaring guitar solos, danceable grooves, and exploratory jamming, and they've toured relentlessly for nearly two decades, backed by a devoted fanbase they call The Flock. Their eighth studio album, Feed The Fire, showcases their sharpened musicianship. The band is endorsed by PRS Guitars, D'Addario Strings, Soultone Cymbals, Maxon FX, and RUNA Tea.
Opening the night is Hot Like Mars, a Chicago jam-funk quintet fronted by vocalist and keyboardist A.P. (Anthony Perry), with Pat Walsh and Frankie 'Lightning' Minella on guitar, Lamontè Norwood on bass, and Wes Julien on drums. They've grown into a national touring act since forming in late 2023.
