Faroese singer-songwriter Eivør brings her blend of Nordic folk and dark electronica to The Sovereign, with Japanese cellist Midori Jaeger on stage.
Eivør plays The Sovereign on Friday, November 6, with Japanese cellist, singer and composer Midori Jaeger joining her on stage. It's a St. Louis stop for the Faroese singer, songwriter and producer, who's one of the more distinctive voices to come out of the Nordic music scene.
Her sound pulls from the folk traditions of the Faroe Islands and mixes them with dark electronica, rock and cinematic pop—a combination shaped by the stark landscapes and the communal singing culture of her home. She's been at it for more than two decades and has put out 11 studio albums, touring across Europe and North America along the way. She's supported acts like Heilung and performed at The Game Awards at the Hollywood Bowl and the UEFA Champions League opening ceremony. In 2021, she was awarded the Nordic Council Music Prize, and she's picked up Icelandic Music Awards and several Faroese Music Awards over the years.
