Family-friendly Halloween party with music from DJ John Betker, games, a hula hoop showdown and mummy-making at St. Louis Union Station.
The St. Louis Wheel Park is hosting a Not So Spooky Halloween Party at the Purina Performance Plaza on Saturday, October 17, from 4 PM to 7 PM. The plaza sits right in front of The Wheel at St. Louis Union Station, so you'll have the big wheel as a backdrop for the whole afternoon. It's billed as a Halloween celebration for families, and the "not so spooky" part is the point: it's all treats and no tricks, aimed at the younger crowd rather than the jump-scare crowd.
DJ John Betker is on the decks, and the afternoon is built around a few specific activities. They're asking guests to show off their "monster moves" on the dance floor, and there's a hula hoop showdown to get into. You can also make your own mummy, and the whole thing is designed for kids to run around and get into the spirit of the season without things getting too dark.
If you're coming, the organizers suggest turning up in your best costume and bringing along a pumpkin bucket. Since it's a family-friendly afternoon, the costume side of things is a big part of the fun, and the bucket is there for the treats. The party is run by The St. Louis Wheel Park, and it's free to attend, so you can just show up and hang out for as much of the afternoon as you like.
