Chamber music concert by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra musicians, part of the 'Live at The Sheldon' series.
Connections comes to The Sheldon on Thursday, March 4, 2027, at 7:30 PM. It's part of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra's Live at The Sheldon series, which launched in the 2023/2024 season. The whole thing is curated and performed by SLSO musicians, and the series brings chamber music to a stage just a short walk from Powell Hall.
There's a specific thread running through the programming. The series traces chamber music back to the Renaissance, when it flourished in small, intimate rooms among friends—the kind of setting that gives the whole thing its name. Each program also includes a world premiere by composers from the Mizzou New Music Initiative at the University of Missouri, so you'll hear something brand new alongside the older repertoire. The series is sponsored by the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation and welcomed by Classic 107.3.

The Sheldon is well-known around town for its acoustics and for a history of hosting names like Ernest Hemingway, B.B. King, and Renée Fleming. It's a good fit for this kind of music, which is meant for a smaller room rather than a full concert hall. The performance is on Thursday, March 4, starting at 7:30 PM.
