A benefit concert hosted by Mitzi MacDonald and Keltic Reign, featuring holiday music and a silent auction to support Annie Malone Children and Family Services.
Christmas in the Kitchen returns to The Sheldon on Tuesday, December 8, 2026, with Notes from Home presenting. It's a benefit concert hosted by Mitzi MacDonald and Keltic Reign, and it's one of those St. Louis traditions that's grown from a small gathering into something the city looks forward to every December.
The evening is built around a specific, cozy format: MacDonald and her musical family bring their kitchen table into the concert hall and invite the audience to share tea and homemade cookies during the show. It's a tradition that's been playing at The Sheldon since 2005, and it sets the tone for the whole night. On stage, MacDonald and Keltic Reign are joined by guests Charles Glenn, Anita Rosamond, and Emerson Magaña. In the bar area, Peter Laucis provides holiday-themed piano music, so there's something to hear even before you take your seat.
Beyond the music, the night is a fundraiser for Annie Malone Children and Family Services, a St. Louis cornerstone for over 135 years that provides shelter, education, and family support to children in crisis, as well as The Leadership School of Normandy. The event has raised over $184,000 for local children's charities to date. Last year was the biggest yet, bringing in $22,048.63 for Annie Malone, $2,000 for the school, and more than 300 toys, with support extending to children in Brooklyn, Illinois. A silent auction runs alongside the music, so there are a few different ways to contribute.

If you're bringing the kids, there's a simple way to help: bring a new toy or teen gift and a child's admission is free. Tickets are $25. The show starts at 7 PM, and doors open at 6 PM, which gives you plenty of time to get settled and browse the auction before the music begins.
