One-night solo concert by composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown with his band, marking The Muny's first collaboration with The Sheldon.
Jason Robert Brown plays The Sheldon on Thursday, December 17, as part of The Muny Presents. He'll be performing as a soloist with his band, and it's a one-night-only engagement: 90 minutes with no intermission.
Brown is a four-time Tony Award winner who describes himself as a multihyphenate: composer, lyricist, conductor, arranger, orchestrator, director, and performer. Most people know him for The Last Five Years, which returned to Broadway in 2025 with Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren, the song cycle Songs for a New World, and Parade, which won the 1999 Tony for best score and the 2023 Tony for best revival of a musical. His other shows include 13, The Bridges of Madison County, Honeymoon In Vegas, and The Connector.
Outside the theater, he's a singer-songwriter. He released Wearing Someone Else's Clothes and How We React and How We Recover on Ghostlight, and Coming From Inside the House and Live In Concert with Stephen Sondheim on Concord. He's played sold-out shows at the London Palladium and Carnegie Hall, so this is a smaller, more intimate setting than those rooms.
