Concert by the indie rock band Bright Eyes, with Lullaby for the Working Class as the supporting act, at The Sovereign in St. Louis.
Bright Eyes play The Sovereign on Sunday, October 18, as part of their fall US tour. They're bringing Lullaby for the Working Class along to open the night.
If you've never heard the story, Bright Eyes started in 1995 in an Omaha basement as a recording moniker for then-15-year-old Conor Oberst's work with producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Mogis. Mogis and Nate Walcott became full members in 2006. Over the last two-plus decades, the band has released a succession of time-capsule LPs and built a mature, narratively cohesive discography. Their songs have been covered by artists as different as Lorde, The Killers, Mac Miller, Phoebe Bridgers, Jason Mraz and beabadoobee, and sampled by rappers including Young Thug and Lil Peep. This show reunites several longtime collaborators and members of the extended Bright Eyes family.
There's also a charitable side to the tickets: the band has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket supports the Poison Oak Project and its work advancing equity for LGBTQ+ people, with a focus on the trans community.
