Late-night club night with urban music at Medbar, Southampton.
Urban Room Fridays Upstairs is on at Medbar this Friday, 4 September, from 10pm until 2am. It's the venue's late-night urban room, and it runs every Friday and Saturday night, so if you can't make this one, there's another the following week.
Medbar is on Oxford Street, and it's a bit of a fixture in the city's nightlife. It's been trading since 2013 and bills itself as Southampton's No.1 late-night bar and club, open until 2am on both Friday and Saturday nights. On those nights, it runs two rooms of music, and the Urban Room upstairs is the one dedicated to urban sounds — the only room in the city that does that late into the night. If you're into that side of things, it's a good spot to know about.
Beyond the dance floor, the venue keeps a fairly full calendar throughout the week. There are 2-for-1 cocktails every day from 4pm to 8pm, Karaoke on Wednesdays, a Latin Fiesta on Sundays, and what they call Hampshire's biggest party brunches. It's a lot of different nights under one roof, so the Urban Room is just one part of what goes on there.

If you're heading in for the Urban Room, you've got a few good options for dinner or drinks nearby before the night gets going. Entry is free before 10pm, and the music runs until 2am.
