The Cabaret Thera-Tease Presents: Never Mind the Buttocks!

The Cabaret Thera-Tease are back at Hanger Farm Arts Centre on Friday 16 October, with a new show called Never Mind the Buttocks!. It's their return to the venue after a previous sellout, and they're billing this one as their loudest, raunchiest and most rebellious yet. The whole thing is built as a middle finger to the patriarchy, and the bill reflects that: burlesque, drag, comedy, vocals and unapologetic cabaret all on the same night.

If you've seen them before, you'll know the format. It's a variety night that pulls from a few different traditions — the stripped-back glamour of burlesque, the camp and costume of drag, and the sharp end of stand-up comedy — and runs them one after another. The vocals bring in a musical side to the mix, so it's not just about the acts; there's a proper song-and-dance element to it. The common thread is the cabaret style, which lets the night jump between a comedy set and a burlesque number without missing a beat.

There's a bit of weight to this one, too. The troupe is presenting it as a last chance to catch them live, so it's not just another date in the calendar — it's one of the final times they'll be taking the stage together. That makes the 'most rebellious' claim feel less like a tagline and more like a parting shot.

It starts at 8pm at Hanger Farm Arts Centre on Aikman Lane, SO40 8FT, in Southampton. Tickets start from £14.
