Southampton Culture Club for Kids is back at SeaCity Museum for its second week, Legends and Labyrinths, running from Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 August. It's a three-day workshop programme run by Southampton Cultural Services, aimed at children aged 6½ to 12.
The whole thing is led by the museum's own team of educators, and they've built it for kids who learn through doing and creating rather than sitting through a traditional classroom lesson. Over the three days, the group explores the past, gets to experience the museum and the gallery from the inside, and takes home the artwork they've made. It's more of a hands-on creative camp than a history course, so it works well for children who'd rather be making things than listening to a lecture.

While the main base is SeaCity Museum on Havelock Road, the sessions also visit the Art Gallery on occasion, so the kids get to see both spaces. The workshops run from 9am to 4pm each day, with drop-off from 8.45am, which is a handy window if you're juggling the school run or work. You can book the full three days for £90, or just a single day for £35, so it works whether you want the whole thing or just a day or two to keep them occupied.
