2.22 A Ghost Story comes to Masker's Studio Theatre on Monday 26 October, with the curtain going up at 7:30pm. It's a thriller that mixes dark humour, psychological unease and a creeping sense of the supernatural, and it's built around a single, specific time: 2:22 a.m.

The story follows a family — Jenny, Sam, Lauren and Ben — whose dinner party takes a turn. What starts as an evening of uneasy laughter and sharp disagreements slowly opens up as secrets surface and loyalties shift. The tension doesn't just come from the table, though. Every night at 2:22 a.m., Jenny wakes to unsettling noises on the baby monitor, convinced someone or something is watching. Her husband, Sam, insists it's just stress, and that gap between her conviction and his dismissal is where the play does most of its work.

It's the kind of thing that plays on the familiar: the baby monitor, the middle-of-the-night wake-up, the dinner party that doesn't quite go to plan. The dark humour keeps it from becoming a straightforward ghost story, and the psychological side means you're left wondering how much of it is in the room and how much is in the characters' heads.
