It's Agatha Christie's long-running murder mystery, which has been playing since 1952 and still holds the title of the world's longest-running play of its kind. If you've heard the name but never seen it, this is a good chance to catch it in Southampton.
The plot starts with a shocking murder in London. Meanwhile, at Monkswell Manor, a remote country guesthouse, seven strangers seeking refuge are snowed in. A police sergeant arrives through a deadly storm with a warning: the threat is already inside. It's a classic locked-room setup, and the show is famous for being the best-kept secret in theatre history, so it's best to go in without knowing the ending.
It's been called 'the cleverest murder mystery of British Theatre' by The Daily Telegraph, 'a truly entertaining classic thriller' by The Sunday Times, and 'deservingly a classic among murder thrillers' by The Observer. It runs for about two hours and twenty minutes, including an interval, and is recommended for ages seven and over, so it works as a family outing if you've got older kids.
