Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical CATS returns to the stage as part of its 2027 UK and Ireland tour, directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie.
CATS is coming to the Mayflower Theatre from Tuesday 30 March to 10 April 2027, a two-week run as part of its UK and Ireland tour. It's Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, and the score you'll recognise includes 'Old Deuteronomy', 'Macavity: The Mystery Cat', 'The Jellicle Ball' and the chart-topping hit 'Memory'.
This is a brand-new production, directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie. It's a Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production, presented by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals. It's the third Lloyd Webber title they've staged in the last decade, following their Olivier Award-winning revival of Jesus Christ Superstar (2016-2020) and Jamie Lloyd's production of Evita (2019). It opens at the Open Air Theatre on 25 July 2026 before heading out on tour.
If you're new to the show, it's one of the longest-running in West End and Broadway history. It premiered at the New London Theatre in 1981, ran for 21 years and nearly 9,000 performances, and won the Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for Best Musical. In 1983 it took seven Tonys, including Best Musical. Since then it's played in more than 54 countries, in 23 languages, to over 77 million people.
