Stand-up show 'Speak of the Devil' by Tom Lawrinson, billed as his biggest tour yet, at The Steamworks.
Tom Lawrinson brings his new show, Speak of the Devil, to The Steamworks on Wednesday 20 January 2027. It's his biggest tour yet, and the night is put on by The Leadmill.
Lawrinson describes the show as finally answering the questions 'is magic real?' and, if so, 'has he been shagged?'. From there it takes you on a whirlwind tour of his innermost thoughts, and the range is wide: fairy tales and gentlemen's clubs sit alongside the late-90s children's TV show 50-50. It's a comedy set built around magic and personal anecdotes, and the two run through it together.
Rolling Stone called him 'truly unique... joyfully daft', and the reviews have been kind. The Scotsman described the pace and quality of his jokes as 'fast and high', an Edinburgh Fringe review called the show a 'roaring belly laugh' of a room, and Chortle called him 'effortlessly engaging'.
