Final UK tour of Cabaret Voltaire with special guest Gazelle Twin, marking 50 years of the band.
Cabaret Voltaire play The Octagon Centre on Sunday 25 October, part of what's billed as their final UK tour. It's a hometown show for the Sheffield electro pioneers, and it's being promoted as their last ever UK date in the city. The tour also stops in Newcastle, Glasgow and Manchester.
They formed here in 1973, with founding members Richard H. Kirk, Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson signing to Rough Trade in 1978. That era brought 'Nag Nag Nag' and albums like Red Mecca, and the sound combined the absurdity of Dada with the D.I.Y. ethos of 1970s punk. Over the following decades it evolved alongside electronic dance styles like electro, acid house and techno, taking in industrial, darkwave, new wave, post-punk, krautrock and bleep techno. They're one of the most important and influential groups in the history of industrial and electronic music, and this is a rare chance to see them back in the city where it all started.

Support comes from Gazelle Twin, who mixes heavy, twisted electronics with soundscapes and is known for her live shows.
