Tom Walker returns as Jonathan Pie, the UK's angriest news reporter, with a new live stand-up show touring the UK.
Jonathan Pie is coming to Sheffield City Hall Oval Hall on Wednesday 4 November, part of a new UK tour. If you've come across him before, you'll know the character: the UK's angriest news reporter, a sweary, uncompromising presence who delivers his monologues straight to camera. He was first unleashed by Tom Walker during the political chaos of the mid-2010s, born out of Brexit-era frustration, and became so convincing that millions of people mistook him for a real reporter. After sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and international tours across the US and Australia, he's back on the road with a brand-new live show.
This one takes in everything he's learned since. He spends a good chunk of it coming to terms with the horror of Keir Starmer's Labour and the fact that he voted for it, while Reform waits in the wings and Elon Musk pulls the strings. He frames the current climate — the far-right on the march, Trump having a ball, AI about to rule and ruin your life, and World War Three feeling distinctly possible — as a backdrop to what he calls a helpful and hilarious guide to surviving the impending apocalypse.

It's a new show, so it's not just a repeat of the old clips. He's taking the character out to the live stage, and this Sheffield date is one stop on a tour that's hitting venues across the UK. If you've followed the character since the early days, it's a chance to see where he's landed after a few years of political upheaval. The show starts at 7:30pm at Sheffield City Hall Oval Hall, Barkers Pool, Sheffield.
