A daytime disco party with nostalgic Northern Soul, disco and 90s classics curated by Jon and Vicky McClure.
Day Fever is back at Sheffield City Hall Ballroom on Saturday 7 November, and it's a daytime party that runs from 3pm to 8pm, so you're home while the night is still young. The music is a nostalgic mix of Northern Soul, disco, indie and 90s classics, curated by Jon McClure and Vicky McClure and tailored to each city on the Day Fever UK tour. The founders describe it as feeling like a house party at your nan's, with no dress code and a relaxed, 80s-focused atmosphere.
It started as a WhatsApp idea between actress Vicky McClure, filmmaker and broadcaster Jonny Owen and musician Jon McClure, frontman of Reverend & The Makers, along with Jon's brother Chris McClure and Sheffield businessman James O'Hara. It debuted at the City Hall Ballroom, and from there it grew into what's billed as the UK's biggest daytime disco phenomenon. The act claims a record of selling out from London to Glasgow, and the party has drawn people through life's biggest moments, from remission and grief to celebration.

If you can't make the November date, there are two more Sheffield dates coming up later in the year: Saturday 5 December and Sunday 20 December, both starting at 2pm. The 7 November session runs from 3pm to 8pm, so you've got five hours of dancing and still make it back for a proper night's sleep.
