Immersive ecstatic dance gathering run by Oliver GoldenCircle, with no rules, just music and movement to connect with your inner rhythm.
The Gaïan Dance is back at Highfield Trinity Methodist Church on Saturday 31 October, an immersive ecstatic dance gathering run by Oliver GoldenCircle. It's an indoor session that runs from 7 pm to 9 pm, two hours of music and movement in the heart of Highfield.
If you've never come across ecstatic dance, the basic idea is that you just move. There are no choreographed steps to learn and no rules to follow — just your own rhythm. GoldenCircle describes it as a space to let go, connect with your inner rhythm, and feel the earth's energy flow through your body. The music does the heavy lifting, and the movement is whatever comes naturally to you, so you don't need any dance experience to get involved.
Because it's an indoor gathering, the whole thing stays under one roof, and the focus is on building a communal experience rather than watching a performance. The music and movement work together to create that shared energy, and the 'no rules' approach means you can move as much or as little as you like. It's as much about the people in the room as it is about the dancing.
