Halloween ghost walk led by storyteller Adrian Finney through the streets of Sheffield City Centre, with live storytelling at the haunted sites.
Strange Sheffield Ghost Tours are back for their Halloween specials this October, with the walks starting at Leah's Yard on Cambridge Street. This run marks five years of the tours, led by storyteller and author Adrian Finney, who's spent that time taking dozens of ghost walks across the city. For these specials, he's returning to the streets where the original stories began, revisiting old favourites alongside a couple of brand new ones, all told live on location.
If you're wondering what to expect, it's a ghost walk in the truest sense: Finney tells the tales as you stand at the actual sites they're connected to, rather than a theatrical performance with actors jumping out from behind bins. He promises hauntings, forgotten history, strange sightings and a good dose of comedy, so it's more about the storytelling than the jump scares. The walk covers about three-quarters of a mile and takes around 90 minutes, starting in the courtyard at Leah's Yard and finishing near Sheffield Cathedral.
Finney's ghost walks aren't his only thing, either. He also runs Voyage for the Damned, a ghostly trip down the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal, and has written a series of Strange Britain books exploring paranormal and unusual tales across the British Isles, with a particular focus on Sheffield. The tours are best suited to ages 14 and up, though younger children are welcome at your discretion.
