BYOB book group where attendees bring a book that means something to them and share what it has meant to them, run by an NCPS Accredited Psychotherapist.
Reflective Book Club is back in Sheffield on Wednesday 25 November, at Studio Comunita in Walkley. It's a book group with a difference: instead of setting a single title for everyone to read, you're invited to bring one that means something to you. Maybe it's a book that comforted you through a hard time, one that sat alongside you during a big life transition, or a childhood favourite that's survived into adulthood. The format is in person and BYOB — Bring Your Own Book.
The session is run by an NCPS Accredited Psychotherapist, but it's not a therapy group. It's a safe space to share and explore the book you've chosen, with people opening up as much or as little as they like about what it has meant to them. You don't have to dive into the deep end if you're not feeling it; you can talk about the story, the author, or the specific time in your life when the book mattered, and keep it as light or as personal as you want.
Because everyone brings their own title, the conversation doesn't revolve around one plot or one set of characters. Instead, it's about why these different books hold a place in our lives, and the stories we tell about them. It's less about literary analysis and more about the personal connection we have with what we read.
