Free guided walk along the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal at Victoria Quays, led by volunteers from the Canal & River Trust.
Let's Walk! Historic Canal Walk is back on Thursday 19 November, starting from Victoria Junction Cafe at Victoria Quays. It's a guided stroll along the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal, led by volunteers from the Canal & River Trust who'll walk you through more than 200 years of the waterway's history and point out the wildlife along the towpaths as you go. The walk is part of the Trust's 'Let's Activity' campaign, a waterways and wellbeing initiative they've put together to get people out and active by the water.
It's a regular thing rather than a one-off: the walk runs on the first and third Thursday of the month, so if you can't make this one, there's another on Thursday 3 December. Both start at 11am. The meeting point is just outside Victoria Junction Cafe at Victoria Quays, Furnival Rd, Sheffield S4 7YB.

A couple of practical things to keep in mind before you set off. The route isn't accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs because of the cobbles and stairs, so it's one to skip if you're bringing a pram. Children are welcome, but they need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. It's free to attend, though donations are accepted if you're feeling generous. If you're after a morning out by the water, this is a straightforward way to spend it.
