A grounding sound bath session with breathwork and guided meditation to mark the approach of Samhain, suitable for mindfulness practitioners and yoga enthusiasts.
Awaken with Amy Autumn is hosting Into the Shadows, a sound bath session at St Peter's Church in Greenhill on Friday 16 October. It's part of her Sound Immersions collection, and this one is built around the approach of Samhain, the traditional Gaelic festival marking the start of the darker half of the year. The whole thing is framed as a chance to slow down and lean into that shift, rather than fight it.
If you've never been to a sound bath, the basic idea is that you lie down on a mat or cushion and let the sound do the work. It's not a performance you watch; it's something you sink into. Amy pairs soothing music with the vibrations of bowls, gongs, or tuning forks to help you drop into a meditative state. The session opens with grounding breathwork and guided meditation to settle the mind before the sound takes over, and it's designed to help you let go of emotional and energetic heaviness and reconnect with your own inner wisdom as the season turns.
It's a session that'll sit comfortably with a few different crowds: mindfulness practitioners, yoga enthusiasts, and people who've never tried anything like this before. You don't need any prior experience to get anything out of it—just a willingness to lie still for an hour and listen. The room is open to over-16s, and since it's in a church hall, it's a quiet, contained space away from the usual city noise.
