Half Term Trick or Treat Fungi Guided Hike

Half Term Trick or Treat Fungi is a guided hike through the woods on Saturday 31 October, starting at Surprise View Car Park (A6187, Sheffield, S11 7TW) at 10:30 am. It's billed as a 'spook-tacular' half-term adventure for all ages, and the Halloween theme runs right through it: you'll be spotting fungi along the way, with creepy critters and 'trick or treat' fungi hidden in the woods. Fancy dress is optional, so you can lean into the Halloween side of things if you fancy it.

Leading the walk is a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader who's also Outdoor First Aid trained, which is a good bit of reassurance when you're out in the woods with a group. Dogs are welcome on the lead around livestock, and there's a chance you'll meet the guide's own dog, Cookie, if it happens to be one of her 'take your dog to work' days.

One practical thing to keep in mind: there are no toilets on the route, though the guide can point out suitable spots for a wild wee if you're caught short. It's a fungi-spotting hike with a Halloween twist, so it works as a family outing over the half-term break. The walk starts at 10:30 am from Surprise View Car Park, and tickets were £5.00, though they're now sold out.
