Free communal vegan meal with a gluten-free option at Gut Level, the queer and LGBTQ+ friendly venue in Sheffield's city centre.
Gut Pleasers are taking over the kitchen at Gut Level on Wednesday 2 December for another Communal Meal, running from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. It's one of the venue's regular get-togethers: everyone sits at one long table, the food is always vegan or veggie with a gluten-free option, and the menu changes every time. This one is vegan.
If you've never been, the format is pretty straightforward. It's not a standard restaurant service where you're tucked away at your own table; the whole point is that everyone eats together, so it's as much about the company as the food. The vegan menu will be different from the last one, and there's always a gluten-free option on the table, so you don't have to worry about missing out if you've got dietary requirements.
It helps to know where this sits. Gut Level is a Sheffield venue that focuses on giving a platform to people underrepresented in the music industry — queer and LGBTQ+, womxn and non-binary people. They run workshops, socials and events through collectives like FLAW Collective, Working Them's Club and the Memory Dance exhibition, and they host resident nights like the italo-acid dance party Club Rush, the wholesome Babycakes parties and the queer-friendly Gut Level Presents sessions. The Communal Meal is their signature get-together, and it fits right into that mix.

On the practical side, it's free for FWB and Angel members, though donations are encouraged. For standard members, it's £5. It runs from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Wednesday 2 December at Gut Level in the city centre.
