Geoff Norcott: Work in Progress

Geoff Norcott is playing The Foundry at the Sheffield Students Union on Saturday 10 April, starting at 19:00. It's part of a run of shows in intimate venues as he builds towards his next big national tour, and he's described this particular stretch as one in which he's pushing himself to take even more risks. If you've seen him before, this is the work-in-progress stage — the kind of night where you get to see new material being worked through in a smaller room before it's polished for the bigger tour.

Norcott is a regular on Radio 4's The News Quiz and has appeared on Would I Lie To You?, Live at the Apollo and The Last Leg. He also hosts his own weekly show on Times Radio, alongside a topical comedy podcast that's been running for seven years. His last comedy special, Basic Bloke, aired on ITV; The Times called it a 'sharp and mature take on modern politics' and the Daily Mail said he's 'in his element on the stand-up stage'.

The show is age-restricted to 16+, so it's not one for the younger crowd. It's at The Foundry, inside the Sheffield Students Union on Western Bank, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S10 2TG. The start time is 19:00.
