A night of chamber music with Sieben, Slow Slow Loris and Dead Space in the Samuel Worth Chapel, a volunteer-led fundraiser for the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust.
Sieben, Slow Slow Loris and Dead Space Chamber Music play the Samuel Worth Chapel on Saturday 17 October, part of the Cemetery Sessions series. The chapel sits inside Sheffield General Cemetery, which opened in 1836 and took its last burial in 1978 before being preserved as a green space in the heart of the city. It's become a regular venue for music, from folk and jazz to immersive sound and Halloween shows.
Sieben is the solo project of Matt Howden, an acclaimed composer and loop artist who plays a kevlar-strung violin he calls 'Kev'. He's released 19 studio albums and played over 2,000 live shows across 35 countries, with his latest, Brand New Dark Age, described as his most beat-driven to date. Slow Slow Loris is a duo based between Berlin and the United States that merges industrial noise melodies with the visceral avant-garde. Dead Space Chamber Music reshapes centuries-old melodies into gothic, doom-infused compositions, blending sacred chant, medieval languages and post-industrial textures.
