Revival of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical 'Annie', with Claire Sweeney as Miss Hannigan, at the Lyceum Theatre.
Annie comes to the Lyceum Theatre from Tuesday 23 February to Saturday 27 February 2027, with Claire Sweeney taking on the role of Miss Hannigan. It's a short run — just five days — so if you're planning on it, you'll want to pick your date early.
The story is set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression. It follows Annie, a brave young orphan living in the orphanage of the tyrannical Miss Hannigan, until she's chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with the billionaire Oliver Warbucks. The original Broadway production won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the book and score are Tony winners in their own right. You'll recognise the songs: 'It's The Hard-Knock Life', 'Easy Street', 'I Don't Need Anything But You' and 'Tomorrow'. It's billed as the world's favourite family musical, and it's a regular revival title and a staple of major UK tours. Critics have called it a 'glorious revival', 'fun, riotous and heartfelt' and an 'all-singing all-dancing triumph'.
