West End musical from Chichester Festival Theatre reimagining the classic MGM film as a Christmas show, with high-energy choreography and the full MGM score.
Singin' in the Rain opens at the Crucible on Thursday 26 November, running through to Saturday 16 January 2027. It's a Chichester Festival Theatre and Stage Entertainment production that comes straight from the West End, reimagined here as a Christmas show. The story follows the first Hollywood musical and the silent-film stars it left behind, and it keeps all the songs from the original MGM score — 'Good Morning', 'Make 'em Laugh', 'Moses Supposes' and, of course, the title track. The staging is built around high-energy choreography and a set that takes in 12,000 litres of water.
On stage, Natalie Anderson plays Lina Lamont, Grant Almirall takes on Don Lockwood, Nicole-Lily Baisden is Kathy Selden, Matthew Maddison plays Cosmo Brown, and Wendi Peters is Dora Bailey. Jonathan Church directs, with choreography by Andrew Wright.
The London Evening Standard called it 'infectious brolly-twirling glee' and The Daily Telegraph described it as 'a night of sheer delight'.
