Cafe walking challenge led by the Sheffield Walking Group, starting at The Woodland Coffee Stop and visiting a string of cafes in the woods.
10 Miles of Cafes kicks off at The Woodland Coffee Stop on Saturday 31 October, a cafe walking challenge that takes you through the woods on a route that hits a string of cafes along the way. It's run by the Sheffield Walking Group, who lead the group through the trees and keep you on track as you work your way from one stop to the next.
The premise is exactly what the name says: ten miles of walking, with cafes dotted across the route to break it up. Instead of one long stretch, you've got these natural pauses to stop for a brew or a bit of cake before heading back out into the woods. It's a guided walk, so the Sheffield Walking Group handles the navigation and leads the way, which means you can just focus on the walking and the stops rather than worrying about where you're going.
Because it's a guided group walk, you'll be moving with other people rather than out on your own, and the route is planned to keep you in the woods for a good part of it. The cafes are the markers that break up the distance, so you're never too far from a place to sit down and recharge before the next leg. It's a full day out in the Sheffield countryside, with the walking and the cafe stops alternating throughout.

The whole thing runs from 10:00 to 17:00, so you'll be out for seven hours in total. It starts and finishes at The Woodland Coffee Stop, which is the first of the cafes you'll encounter on the way. If you're planning to join in, make sure you've got proper walking gear for a ten-mile day in the woods, and keep in mind that the cafe stops are part of the experience, not just a quick break.
