Weekly open mic night at Scion Cider with music, spoken word, stand-up, improv and magic, for adults 21 and over.
Open Mic Mondays is back at Scion Cider Bar on Monday, October 19, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. It's an open stage, which means the night is built around whoever decides to sign up and take the mic.
The range of what you'll hear is one of the best parts. It's not just for musicians, though they make up a good chunk of the night. You'll find people sharing spoken word readings or storytelling, stand-up comedy, improv acts, and even magic. Because it's an open mic, the lineup changes every week based on who shows up, and you'll see a mix of people testing out new material and those who just come to play for the fun of it. If you've been working on a few songs, a set of jokes, or a story you've wanted to tell out loud, this is a place to get it in front of an audience.
There's also a bit of a draw beyond the stage: performers and patrons may be eligible to win concert tickets courtesy of Postfontaine and Live Nation. It's a nice bonus if you're already planning to spend the evening there.
