Hands-on cooking class for junior chefs aged 9 and up to make a Thanksgiving feast with turkey tenderloin, cornbread, cranberry sauce and mini pumpkin pies.
Salt Lake Culinary Education is hosting a Junior Chef: Thanksgiving Feast on Saturday, November 21, from 10 AM to 1 PM. It's a hands-on class for kids aged 9 and up, so if you've got a young one who's always hanging around the kitchen while you're prepping for the holiday, this is a good way to let them actually take the lead on a few things.
The menu sticks to the Thanksgiving classics. They'll work through turkey tenderloin, cornbread, cranberry sauce, and mini pumpkin pies—basically a full spread in one morning. Since it's a hands-on session, they aren't just watching a demo; they're the ones doing the chopping, mixing, and baking. By the time the class wraps, they'll have a handle on the core components of a traditional holiday meal.
One thing to keep in mind: spots are strictly limited. The class is capped at 12 participants, so it's a small group rather than a big room. If you're planning to sign up, it's worth doing it sooner rather than later before the spots fill up.
