Hands-on cooking class for adults where the chefs guide a festive Halloween menu of squash stew, pumpkin cornbread and apple fritters.
Salt Lake Culinary Education is hosting Eat, Drink & Be Scary: Halloween Harvest Feast on Saturday, October 31, from 5 PM to 8 PM. It's a hands-on cooking class led by the venue's chefs, built around the flavors of autumn. The menu is a seasonal spread you prepare yourself: squash stew, pumpkin cornbread, and apple fritters. You'll walk through the recipes during the class and then take them home to make again for your own gatherings.
The kitchen team guides the room through the evening, and the menu leans on the season's best produce—squash, pumpkin, and apples—so it's a good way to get comfortable with some of the ingredients that define fall cooking. Since you're doing the work yourself, you'll leave with more than just a meal; you'll have the actual steps down for each dish.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind. The class is for adults only, 18 and up, and you're expected to arrive on time and wear closed-toe shoes. If you need to reschedule, you'll need to give 72 hours' notice. There are no refunds, credits, or class transfers for missed sessions, though you can have someone else attend in your place if you can't make it.
