A family-friendly concert by the North Carolina Symphony featuring music from Narnia, Frozen and The Lord of the Rings, with pre-concert activities for children.
The North Carolina Symphony is bringing Epic Adventures from Narnia & More to Meymandi Concert Hall on Saturday, January 2, 2027, with two showtimes: 1 PM and 4 PM. The program pulls from some of the most recognizable fantasy worlds, with music from Frozen, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Lord of the Rings all on one bill. Sophie Mok conducts the orchestra for both performances.
It's part of the symphony's Young People's Concert Series, sponsored by WakeMed Children's and Raleigh Pediatric Dentistry. If you're bringing kids, you'll want to get there early. The lobby fills up with free, kid-friendly activities an hour before each show: the symphony's Instrument Zoo, crafts with Marbles Kids Museum, a pre-concert Ovations performance by student musicians, and costume contests. It's the kind of afternoon where the activities around the concert are almost as much of a draw as the music itself.
