Full moon ceremony for completion and release held at the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix.
Moon Meditation returns to the Japanese Friendship Garden on Thursday, October 29, starting at 7 PM. It's a full moon ceremony built around the idea of completion and release, and it's one of several dates they're running through the year.
Full moon ceremonies are a practice found in many ancient traditions. The full moon marks the completion of a cycle and stands for abundance, which makes it a natural time to surrender whatever no longer supports your peace and joy. That's the core of the evening: a guided session centered on letting go and starting fresh.
The setting is the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, known as RoHoEn, a joint project of the City of Phoenix and Himeji, Japan. It's an authentic 3.5-acre Japanese stroll garden with a tea garden and a tea house, built with more than 1,500 tons of hand-picked rock, stone foot bridges, and lanterns. There are more than 50 varieties of plants, flowing streams, a 12-foot waterfall, and a koi pond with over 300 colorful fish. It's a quiet, carefully tended space that fits the mood of the ceremony.
