Word-based theatre show at The Old Fire Station, the multi-form arts centre on George Street in Oxford.
Word Power, a word-based theatre show, comes to The Old Fire Station on Friday 6 November. It runs from 7.30pm to 10.00pm, so it's a full evening rather than a quick one.
If you're not familiar with the venue, The Old Fire Station is a multi-form arts centre in the heart of Oxford that presents new work across different art forms and supports local early-to-mid-career artists in making and showing their work. It shares its building with the homelessness charity Crisis, and together they work to tackle homelessness in the city by offering training and volunteering opportunities to Crisis clients, who then create and exhibit alongside professional artists. The venue also doubles as a performance space, with a programme that ranges from gallery exhibitions to ongoing theatre projects.

Because it's a word-based show, the focus is on the text and the delivery rather than a big set or a cast of dozens. It's the kind of thing that works well in a space like this, where the distance between the stage and the audience is small enough to keep the focus on the words. Tickets are £5.00 to £11.00, and it runs from 7.30pm to 10.00pm at 40 George Street, OX1 2AQ.
