Monthly night of long-form comedy improv from The Collective Imagination Improv, with its house team Atomic Wasp Improv and a guest team.
The Collective Imagination Improv bring their comedy night back to the Old Fire Station on Wednesday 18 November, from 8.00 to 9.45pm. It's part of their monthly run of long-form improv in Oxford, which they put together using teams from both the local scene and London.
If you're not familiar with the format, long-form is a bit different from the short-game stuff you might have seen. Rather than a series of quick, one-off games, the performers build something larger over the course of the set. The night's bill features Atomic Wasp Improv, the venue's own house team, alongside a guest team that's still to be confirmed. Atomic Wasp work with nothing but the audience's suggestions, weaving together monologues and comedy sketches that build a world of characters and unexpected relationships on the fly. The Collective Imagination describes long-form as one of the fastest-growing and most vibrant alternative comedy formats in the UK, and the monthly schedule means there's usually a new set of teams coming through.
