Screenings of the PG film 'Tenzing', the story of the mountaineer who, with Edmund Hillary, first reached the summit of Everest.
Tenzing is playing at Phoenix Picturehouse on Walton Street this week, with screenings running from Tuesday 20 October through to Thursday 22 October. It's a PG-rated film, 125 minutes long, so you'll want to set aside a good two hours and a bit.
The film is billed as the untold and inspiring tale of one of the most important mountain climbers in history: Tenzing Norgay, who, alongside Edmund Hillary, became the first person to reach the summit of Everest. If you've only ever heard the story from the British side, this is a chance to see it from his.
There are four screenings to choose from, so you can pick the one that fits your week. It kicks off on Tuesday 20 October at 12.15pm, a captioned showing. Wednesday 21 October has two: an 8.30pm evening slot and an 11.30am 'Watch With Baby' session for those with little ones in tow. Then there's a final showing on Thursday 22 October at 3.00pm. If you're taking the kids, that Wednesday morning one is probably your best bet.
