Family screening of the Aardman Halloween film in which Shaun turns 'Mad Scientist' after the Farmer trashes the Flock's pumpkin patch.
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is playing at Vue Cinema in Oxford until Thursday 29 October, having run since 17 October. It's a family adventure set on Mossy Bottom Farm, and it fits the Halloween season perfectly.
The story starts with everyone on the farm looking forward to Halloween, right up until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock's beloved pumpkin patch. Shaun decides to take matters into his own hands and turns 'Mad Scientist' to fix the problem, but things quickly spiral out of control: the Farmer goes missing and a wild beast is reported roaming the woods of Mossingham. It's a classic Shaun setup — a small mistake that snowballs into something much bigger than it ever should have been.
Behind the scenes, it's directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker, with Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes and Kate Harbour involved. The film runs an hour and twenty minutes, so it's a manageable length for a family outing without dragging on too long. It's rated U, meaning it's suitable for all ages, so you can bring the whole crowd along.

Vue Cinema is over at Ozone Leisure Park on Grenoble Road (OX4 4XP), and tickets start from £6.49. With the run ending on 29 October, it's one of those things that's easier to catch sooner rather than later if you're planning a family trip before the month is up.
