Screening of short films directed by women from the Norwich Film Festival 2026, followed by a panel and Q&A with the filmmakers.
Phoenix Picturehouse is hosting Women In Film Shorts on Thursday 12 November, as part of the Norwich Film Festival 2026. It's a double-bill of a sort: first a selection of short films directed by women, then a panel and Q&A with some of the filmmakers. The whole thing runs for 135 minutes, so you've got the screenings and the conversation in one sitting.
The shorts aren't tied to one particular mood or subject. They cover a wide range of genres, styles and themes, so you'll see a few different approaches to filmmaking back-to-back rather than one single tone. The Q&A that follows lets you hear from the people behind the work, with a panel of selected filmmakers talking through their process and taking questions from the audience.

It's being shown at Phoenix Picturehouse, a century-old Oxford cinema with two screens and a friendly upstairs bar. The session runs for 135 minutes, with the films and the Q&A together on Thursday 12 November.
