A cappella group G4 bring their festive tour of carols, sacred songs and modern Christmas hits to Oxford Town Hall.
G4 are back at Oxford Town Hall on Wednesday 23 December, part of their G4 Christmas tour. It's a run that takes them into cathedrals, priories, minsters, halls and abbeys across the UK, with the Oxford date falling just two days before Christmas.
The whole thing is built on the group's blended voices and harmonies, and the setlist moves through a few different moods. There are traditional carols and sacred contemplations, classical favourites, and modern festive hits like Silent Night, O Holy Night, Walking in the Air, When a Child is Born and The 12 Days of Christmas. Reviewers have pointed to their showmanship, and the tour sells out year after year, with the running joke being that audiences dance and prance their way home afterwards.
Behind the name are four voices: Jonathan Ansell, Michael Christie, Duncan Sandilands and Michael Conway. If you want to get a bit closer before the show starts, there's a pre-show Meet and Greet at 6pm, which comes with a welcome drink and the chance to meet the group and get things signed.
