Stand-up show by Sam Campbell, known for Taskmaster and 8 Out of 10 Cats, in which he champions live comedy.
Sam Campbell brings his stand-up show Kid Giblet to Norwich Theatre Royal on Sunday 8 November, with the performance starting at 7:30 pm. If you've come across him on the telly, you'll recognise the name: he's a regular on Taskmaster, Would I Lie To You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. This is him live on stage, doing his own thing.
Campbell is known for an absurdist style that doesn't really fit into a neat box, and Kid Giblet is built around a particular point he wants to make. He frames the whole show on the idea that live comedy is still something special because it brings people together in a proper setting to watch a performance, rather than everyone staring at their own phone screen. It's a simple enough premise, but it's the one he works from throughout the night.
If you're not familiar with his work, that absurdist label is a good starting point. He's not the kind of comic who just tells a series of punchline-driven jokes; it's more about the strange, off-kilter places he takes a bit. The TV appearances give you a glimpse of how he plays with a room, and Kid Giblet is that same energy given a full hour to run with.

One thing to keep in mind before you book: the show is recommended for ages 16 and over, so it's not one for the younger ones. Tickets start from £29.68, though the official site currently lists it as sold out, so you'll want to check for returns or keep an eye on the box office if you're keen. It's at Norwich Theatre Royal on Theatre Street, NR2 1RL, on Sunday 8 November at 7:30 pm.
