Stand-up show by Harriet Kemsley about dating, mushrooms and her attempts to be a bit of a floozy.
Harriet Kemsley brings her new show, Floozy, to the Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Sunday 8 November, starting at 20:00. It's her first time back in the city since her appearance on Last One Laughing UK, and the set is a fresh one.
As the title suggests, the show turns on dating, mushrooms, and Kemsley's own best efforts to be a bit of a floozy. It's a new tour, so this is a first look at the material she's been working on since Last One Laughing put her in the spotlight. If you've followed her work, you'll recognise the same sort of self-deprecating, conversational style she's known for, but here it's built around these three particular threads: the chaos of modern dating, a detour into mushrooms, and the ongoing project of trying to be a bit more adventurous than she actually is.
The Playhouse is a good fit for this kind of thingโsmall enough that the room stays tight, which works in your favour when the comedy is this personal. It's a single-act night, so Kemsley carries the whole evening herself, and the set is built around her own stories rather than a series of sketches or a supporting line-up. If you're coming from Last One Laughing, this is the full-length version of what you saw there, with the new material given room to breathe.
