A night of comedy catharsis with savagely funny songs, hilarious characters and real-life rage from Riona O'Connor and Olga Thompson.
Riona O'Connor and Olga Thompson bring their show Middle Rage to Norwich Theatre Royal on Friday 7 May 2027. It's a double bill, with the two of them sharing the stage rather than taking turns in separate slots.
They describe the night as a bit of comedy catharsis, built around savagely funny songs, a cast of characters, and real-life rage. The whole thing is pitched as a way to leave the audience feeling fabulous, fearless and feral. It's the kind of show that doesn't shy away from the specifics of getting older, and they're pretty open about where it sits: at the intersection of comedy and cholesterol, musical theatre and menopausal misfits, stand-up and vaginal atrophy. They sum it up as 'Two Women. Two Shows. Zero Chill.'
It's a night of songs and characters, so it's as much about the music as it is about the stand-up. The two of them bring their own material to the same stage, and the whole thing is recommended for ages 16 and over.
