Stand-up show by Mark Watson, the 'Taskmaster' cheeky texts star and 'Baby Reindeer' actor, about the uncertain future facing humanity.
Mark Watson brings his new show, Before It Overtakes Us, to Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Friday 4 December, starting at 7:30 pm. It's a stand-up set that runs about two hours with an interval, so you'll be out around 9:30.
Watson's been on the circuit for twenty years, and if you've come across him recently, it might be from Baby Reindeer, where he appeared as an actor. Beyond that, he's known as the Taskmaster cheeky texts icon, a multi-award winner, a YouTube cult figure and a Radio 4 favourite. He's played the big comedy festivals in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Edinburgh, so this is a seasoned pro coming to Norwich.
The show itself grew out of a chance encounter with a stranger that left him thinking about the uncertain future facing humanity. From there, it wanders into other territory: the worst word he's ever said in public and the current state of the UK sausage industry. He delivers it in his typically frantic, fun-packed style, so expect a lot of energy on stage rather than a slow burn.
