Live rock and pop covers set by Last Men Standing at the riverside pub The Ribs of Beef.
Last Men Standing play The Ribs of Beef on Sunday 25 October, from 5pm to 8pm. They're a rock and pop covers band, so the set is built around the songs you already know rather than their own material. It's a late-afternoon slot, which means you can catch the music and still have your whole evening ahead of you.
The venue is The Ribs of Beef, a city-centre free house on the banks of the River Wensum. It's been run by Roger and Anthea Cawdron for over 30 years, and it's earned a reputation as one of the city's favourite locals. It's a riverside spot, so if the weather holds, you can sit out on the terrace or in the triangle garden. Inside, it's dog-friendly and open on Christmas Day, and the mission there is pretty straightforward: they want you to leave happy with the beer and the food, and come back as a friend rather than a stranger.
Beyond the live music, the pub does a fair bit more than your average local. There's an extensive pub food menu and up to nine real ales and craft beers on cask, including five changing guest ales. They also run a regular pub quiz, so the live music is part of a wider calendar of things to do there throughout the week.

Last Men Standing take the stage from 5pm to 8pm, so it's a three-hour run of rock and pop covers. If you're heading in, the pub is at 24 Wensum Street, NR3 1HY, right by the river in the city centre.
