Live blues and rock set by The Ron Sayer Trio at The Ribs of Beef, the city-centre Free House on Wensum Street.
The Ron Sayer Trio are playing at The Ribs of Beef on Sunday 1 November, from 5pm to 8pm. It's an afternoon session, so it's one of those gigs that doesn't eat into your whole evening if you've got a busy Monday ahead.
They're a blues and rock trio, so the set sits right in that crossover between the two. If you're into the blues side of things, you'll find it here; if you're more of a rock listener, that's covered too. It's the kind of music that works just as well as a backdrop to a drink as it does if you're there specifically for the band.
As for the venue, The Ribs of Beef is a city-centre free house on the banks of the River Wensum, known as 'the City's favourite local'. It's been run by Roger and Anthea Cawdron for over 30 years, and they keep it going with a regular programme of live music alongside a pub quiz. There's a riverside terrace and a triangle garden, and dogs are welcome on a lead, so it's a good spot to bring a four-legged friend along for the afternoon. If the weather holds, you can sit outside and watch the river go by before the music starts.
