Improvisation comedy show in which Kiell Smith-Bynoe and a cast of UK improvisers turn stories from the audience into something new, with a celebrity guest.
Kiell Smith-Bynoe brings his improv show Kool Story Bro back to Norwich Theatre Royal on Monday 23 November, starting at 7:30 pm. It's a return to the city following a national tour and sold-out runs at the Playhouse in London and in Edinburgh, so if you missed it the first time around, this is your second chance.
If you don't know the format, it's built on stories from the audience. Smith-Bynoe takes whatever the crowd throws at him and, alongside a celebrity guest and a cast of improvisers, turns those stories into something new each night. Because it's all made up on the spot, no two shows are the same. You're as much a part of it as the people on stage, and the whole thing is built around what happens in the room.
Smith-Bynoe himself will be familiar to a lot of you — he's known from Ghosts, Taskmaster and Stath Lets Flats. He's joined by a celebrity guest and a cast of the UK's best improvisers, and the show has a history of pulling in big names. Past guests have included Amelia Dimoldenberg, Lily Allen, Jamie Demitriou, Adam Buxton, Mo Gilligan, Loly Adefope and Nish Kumar, with improvisers like Emma Sidi, Lola-Rose Maxwell, Graham Dickson, Lara Ricote, Janine Harouni, Nic Sampson, Brendan Murphy and Rob Gilbert also appearing. The specific guest for the Norwich date hasn't been announced yet, so that's part of the draw.
