Stand-up show in which Karl Minns looks back on his favourite local news stories of 2026, with jokes, songs and slides.
Karl Minns is back at Norwich Theatre Royal from 5 to 16 January 2027, with performances starting at 7:30 pm. The show is called Karl Minns Looks Back on 2026 (with friends), and it does exactly what it says on the tin: he's taking a bug-eyed look at his favourite local news stories from the past year. It's a stand-up comedy set built around the weird and wonderful headlines that cropped up across the region throughout 2026.
He's not just sticking to the news, though. The set pulls in bits from A Quick Dip In The Yare alongside new material, so you'll get some familiar ground mixed with things he's written specifically for this run. He works with jokes, songs, slides and moderate cross-dressing, and the subject matter stays firmly rooted in the local: Anglia Square, bad smells, Prince Andrew's latest escapades, King's Lynn swingers and the latest news from Ipswich. He's backed on stage by a superstar of the Larkman, too.
If you're not familiar with his reputation, Al Murray once called him a 'Swiss army-knife joke machine' and Matt Forde described him as 'genius'. It's the kind of show that works best if you've spent the last year reading the local press and wondering why on earth some of these things actually happened.
