Award-winning puppet show by Jonathan Rockefeller bringing Eric Carle's children's stories to the stage, recommended for ages 0-7.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is coming to Norwich Theatre Playhouse from Tuesday 24 to Sunday 29 November, a puppet show that brings Eric Carle's stories to the stage. It's created by Jonathan Rockefeller, who's spent over a decade bringing these classics to life.
The title story is the main draw, but it's not the only one on the bill: the show includes three other Eric Carle stories, and the stage fills with a menagerie of over 75 puppets. It runs for an hour with no interval, so it's a single stretch rather than a split session. It's recommended for ages 0-7 and families, though the production itself claims it delights anyone from 1 to 99.
Rockefeller's version has been touring for more than ten years, playing in over 20 countries to more than 3 million children, and it's picked up universal acclaim from The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, Time Out and The Huffington Post. This run marks a decade on stage for the multi-award-winning production.
